    For a man living on the road places like Johns Plaice are a real godsend. Placed on a country road adjacent to a reasonably priced petrol station. A proper fish and chip shop with sit down cafe with take away option. The food is truly excellent no nonsense old fashioned chip shop fare. Great big tasty portions served by friendly welcoming staff. If you are hungry and have to drive to or from Workington I'd give it a try for lunch.
